The “Rousskiye Uzory” Dance Ensemble
was founded
in 1998 by Natalia Chatilova in Montreal. Since that
modest beginning, the Ensemble has grown and now
includes not only children from the parish school,
but also university, college students.
The Ensemble’s repertoire features classical and new productions of traditional Russian dances such as folklore, quadrille, round dances and comedy-satire. Every year “Rousskiye Ouzory” performe at various festivals and cultural events.
Past performances include many International Festivals in Canada such as the Drummondville International Arts Festival, Winnipeg International Festival, Saint-Marie de Beauce International Festival, Caruaru International Festival in Brazil and Zacatecas International Festival in Mexico.
The artistic leader of the “Rousskiye Uzory” is Natalia Chatilova, a professional choreographer from Russia. From 1983 to 1996, she was both a dancer and choreographer for various folkloric and musical ensembles in St. Petersburg. Since 1996, she has resided in Montreal, Quebec, where she continues to work as a choreographer for the “Rousskiye Uzory” Ensemble.
Depuis 1998 - fondatrice de groupe de danse folklorique russe ROUSSKIYE OUZORY. Professeur et chorégraphe de danse de caractère et traditionnelle russe pour les enfants et les adultes. Au sein de cette compagnie de réputation internationale, elle a également fait plusieurs tournées dans le cadre de festivals et d’événements de prestige au Mexique, au Brésil, au Perou et au Costa-Rica.. She also works as Artistic Director of major International Folk Concerts in Montreal, Canada.
She has been teacher at the faculty of the École supérieure de ballet de Québes ESBQ since 2005.
Depuis 2010, professeur de danse caractère à l’École de ballet Métropolitain.
